This class will present a practical framework and best practices for self-driven public relations for artists and other creators, including communicating with and pitching to members of the media and receiving publicity. Learn the distinctions between public relations, marketing, and advertising, and gain confidence in representing yourself and your work across each platform.
Lauren Tresp is founder of Southwest Contemporary and has been the editor and publisher of The Magazine in Santa Fe, New Mexico since 2016. She has experience working in contemporary art as a writer and has worked in commercial art galleries. She has a Master of Arts in Humanities from the University of Chicago, where she studied Medieval and Renaissance Art History, and a Bachelor of Arts in Art History and History from UCLA.
