New Mexico is ranked as one of the top ten most racially/ethnically diverse states in the U.S. Of its sparsely populated 2 million+ inhabitants (about 16.5 people per square mile), approximately 48% are Hispanic or Latino in origin, 37% are White/Non Latino, 10% are Native American, 2.5% are Black or African American and 1.7% are Asian, with other races making up the rest of the population.
These groups have deep, rich histories and cultural traditions in New Mexico, which impact preferred styles for building relationship and doing business.
