Study the basic techniques to oral and maxillofacial surgery for pediatric and general dental assistants that assist their doctors in the operating room environment.  Training covers using aseptic techniques such as:  surgical scrubbing, gloving, gowning, creating a sterile field, instrument and supply set-up, sharps safety (e.g., needles and blades), electro-surgical safety, operating room fire safety, universal protocol/time out, latex allergy awareness, and malignant hyper-thermia response.   If requested, an assessment of your strengths will be provided to the hospital operating room supervisor.
