The second annual 2013 Pure Energy Expo will be held Tuesday and Wednesday, Oct. 15-16, in Clovis, N.M. Building off the success of the 2012 Pure Energy Expo, this year’s event brings important resources, presentations and information about renewable energy to the area’s leaders, landowners and business leaders.
The Pure Energy Expo is hosted by the Coalition of Renewable Energy Landowner Associations (CRELA), the Clovis/Curry County Chamber of Commerce and the Clovis Industrial Development Corporation (CDIC), and is held in conjunction with CRELA’s fifth annual meeting the morning of Oct. 15. The event will be held at the Clovis Civic Center, 801 Schepps Blvd.
In its inaugural year the expo attracted more than 250 participants, which included land owners, state, local and federal elected officials, chambers of commerce, economic development organizations, and renewable energy businesses, including representatives from oil, gas, bio fuels, wind, solar and nuclear energy organizations.
Speakers include Brian Hobbs, Legal and Corporate Services for Western Farmers Electric Cooperative (WFEC); Keith Sparks, director of development for Centennial West Clean Line; and David Getts, general manager for SouthWestern Power Group; Wayne Berry, president and founder of Commercial Construction Services, Inc. and Jillian Homes; Phillip Harris, CEO of Tres Amigas; Sarah Cottrell Propst, executive director of the Interwest Energy Alliance; Dave Belote, vice president for federal business at Apex Clean Energy; and Sherry Kunka, director of community affairs for Sharyland Utilities.
