Training: 'The Addiction-Trauma Connection: Spirals of Recovery and Healing,' Albuquerque

This one-day training focuses on the process of trauma and the need for gender-responsive and trauma-informed services. Topics covered include: therapeutic environment, stages of recovery, dissociation, triggers, and secondary traumatization. However, the principal emphasis will be on healing ��" on learning ways to facilitate the healing process in the context of women’s addiction treatment and recovery. Interactive exercises from several curricula (Beyond Trauma, Helping Women Recover, and A Woman’s Way through The Twelve Steps) are demonstrated. Throughout the day the specific concerns of women with criminal justice involvement are addressed.
