This course is designed for anyone interested in healthy lifestyle changes, as a part of the USDA Grant-Healthy Meals, Fit for Life. This class will combine nutrition concepts, physical activity participation and culinary applications, creating healthful and nutritional food choices. Topics include: latest nutrition guidelines, low impact interval training exercise and healthy cooking techniques. Basic kitchen math topics include weights and measures, converting grams to pounds, and increasing and decreasing recipes. Class will be combined theory and full lab participation. Recipes will be provided. Proper culinary lab attire is required, including closed toe gym or walking shoes, hair restraint, and long pants and long sleeves. | |
| Please read: Directions to the A Building on CNM Main Campus The A Building is located in the vicinity of University Blvd (North-South) and Coal Ave (East-West). If you are coming South on University, turn left (East) on Coal until you reach Buena Vista Street. There is a parking lot just off Buena Vista and Coal you can park in on Saturdays. After parking, follow the sidewalk down into the courtyard between buildings. You will see two blue doors towards the south end of the courtyard.
