Advanced Manufacturing Expansion Program
New Mexico MEP
Our advanced manufacturing companies face difficult workforce challenges in an increasingly competitive national and global marketplace. Lack of well trained workforce combined with high turn-over rates could limit the New Mexico manufacturers to meet the 21st Century challenges and compete on national and global scales.
Advanced Manufacturing Forum
The Advanced Manufacturing Forum (AMF) is a part of the Advanced Manufacturing Expansion (AME) program that engages New Mexico Manufacturers to lead the way in designing effective Registered Apprenticeships programs for training and education of the New Mexico workforce and prepare them for the 21st century industrial revolution. The goals of the AMF are:
- Generate growth and business opportunities within the New Mexico manufacturers by identifying the skills gap and provide local workforce with the necessary training and education through funded Registered Apprenticeships.
- Solicit input and feedback from various state manufacturers to design apprenticeship programs that meet the skills gap
- Support New Mexico Manufacturers by providing comprehensive competency-based training programs supplemented by formal education at community college.
